Antarvedi in West Godavari district is the unique sangam (confluence) where the Godavari river finally merges with the Bay of Bengal. According to the Skanda Purana, a holy dip at the Antarvedi Pushkar sangam during Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 carries the highest merit for performing Pitru Tarpanam — equal to taking dips at Kashi, Prayag and Gaya combined.
