Antarvedi Pushkaralu 2027 — Sangam Ghat & Lakshmi Narasimha Temple

Antarvedi in West Godavari district is the unique sangam (confluence) where the Godavari river finally merges with the Bay of Bengal. According to the Skanda Purana, a holy dip at the Antarvedi Pushkar sangam during Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 carries the highest merit for performing Pitru Tarpanam — equal to taking dips at Kashi, Prayag and Gaya combined.

Antarvedi Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

The Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Antarvedi is one of the most ancient Vishnu temples in Andhra Pradesh, dating back to the Krita Yuga as per local tradition. The temple’s annual Kalyanotsavam during Bhishma Ekadasi attracts lakhs of pilgrims. During Pushkaralu, the temple offers special abhishekams, kalyanam (divine wedding), and free annadanam.

Vasishta Godavari Estuary

The Vasishta Godavari, one of the seven branches (sapta sakha) of the river, meets the Bay of Bengal at Antarvedi. The vast sandy beach is dotted with temporary tarpanam platforms and is the focal point of pilgrim activity during the 12-day festival.
