Pushkar Ghat Rajahmundry — Main Bathing Ghat for Pushkaralu 2027

Pushkar Ghat in Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry) is the principal bathing ghat for the Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 festival. Located on the south bank of the Godavari river, just below the historic Godavari Arch Bridge, it is the largest, most sacred and best-equipped of all the bathing locations along the river. Pilgrims taking the holy dip at Pushkar Ghat during the 23 July to 3 August 2027 window earn the highest religious merit (punya) according to Hindu tradition.

Holy Dip Procedure at Pushkar Ghat

Follow the traditional tridhanu snanam sequence: face east for the first dip while reciting the Gayatri mantra, face north for the second dip invoking river goddess Godavari Devi, and face the rising sun for the third dip with surya arghyam. After the snanam, perform Pitru Tarpanam on the dedicated platforms at the upper ghat. See our complete Snanam Procedure Guide.

Best Time to Visit Pushkar Ghat

The most spiritually potent window is the first 12 hours of Pushkaralu (03:48 AM to 03:48 PM IST on 23 July 2027), with Brahma Muhurtham (4:00–5:30 AM) being the absolute peak. The last 12 hours of the festival (3 August 2027 evening) are equally sacred. Avoid peak afternoon hours when crowd density is highest. Senior citizens and pregnant women should bathe only during the morning (5:30–9:00 AM) or evening (5:30–7:30 PM) windows.

Crowd Management & Token System

The Andhra Pradesh government implements a colour-coded ghat rotation system at Pushkar Ghat. Pilgrims register online or at designated kiosks for a free time-slot token, which is mandatory for entry during peak days (1, 2, 11, and 12 of the festival). Live updates on crowd density are posted on the official WhatsApp channel.
