Aksharabhyasam at Saraswati Ghat — Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 Guide

Aksharabhyasam (also called Vidyaarambham) is the Hindu sacrament that initiates a child into the formal world of learning. The ceremony involves the child writing their first letters with guidance from a priest or guru. Performing Aksharabhyasam at the Saraswati Ghat in Rajahmundry during Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 is considered to bestow lifelong academic success, intelligence and wisdom by the grace of Goddess Saraswati.

Right Age for Aksharabhyasam

Traditionally Aksharabhyasam is performed when the child is between 2 and 5 years of age, with 3 being the most auspicious. The ceremony is best held on Vasanta Panchami, Vijayadashami, or Saraswati Jayanti, but during Pushkaralu the entire 12-day window is considered equally auspicious. Parents who missed the traditional age can also perform a Vidyaarambham for older children up to age 12.
