Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 Telangana Guide — Bhadrachalam, Kaleshwaram & Dharmapuri

Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 Telangana Guide — Bhadrachalam, Dharmapuri & Kaleshwaram

While the main festival celebrations of Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 centre on Rajamahendravaram (Andhra Pradesh), the Godavari river also flows through Telangana, where major holy bathing sites along the river attract crowds of pilgrims. This Telangana-specific guide covers the ghats, temple towns, government plans, infrastructure development and travel tips for Pushkaralu in Bhadrachalam, Dharmapuri, Kaleshwaram, Mancherial, Manthani and Manuguru.

Expected Dates of Godavari Pushkaralu 2027

Pushkaralu in Telangana follows the same window as Andhra Pradesh: 23 July 2027 to 3 August 2027. The Telangana government has begun preparations at the major ghats, especially Bhadrachalam, where the festival overlaps with regular Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam pilgrim flow.

Major Pushkar Ghats in Telangana

  • Bhadrachalam — Sri Rama Ghat, Janasthan Ghat, Sita Pushkar Ghat, Parnasala upstream.
  • Dharmapuri (Karimnagar district) — Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple ghats.
  • Kaleshwaram (Jayashankar Bhupalpally) — Sangameshwar Ghat at the Triveni Sangam (Godavari + Pranahita).
  • Basara (Nirmal) — Sri Saraswati Devi Temple ghat upstream.
  • Mancherial & Manthani — secondary bathing ghats.
  • Manuguru & Vemsoor (Bhadradri Kothagudem) — evening aarti ghats.

Telangana Government Preparations for Pushkaralu

The Government of Telangana has reportedly committed funds for road widening, sanitation, additional bathing platforms, free shuttle service and 24×7 medical camps at Bhadrachalam and Kaleshwaram. The TGSRTC (Telangana State Road Transport Corporation) will run special Pushkar buses from Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam and Nizamabad. South Central Railway will operate Pushkar Special Trains from Hyderabad/Secunderabad to Bhadrachalam Road and Manchirial.

Infrastructure Development Plans

Plans include extension of the Bhadrachalam ghat steps, drone surveillance for crowd management, free RFID wristbands for senior pilgrims, drinking-water kiosks every 200 metres, mobile toilets and over 5,000 temporary tent accommodation units along the Godavari banks at Bhadrachalam, Manuguru and Kaleshwaram.

Spiritual Significance of Godavari Pushkaralu in Telangana

Bhadrachalam is associated with Lord Rama’s exile and the holy Parnasala. A snanam at Sri Rama Ghat during Pushkaralu is considered equivalent to a pilgrimage to Kashi. Kaleshwaram, with its Triveni Sangam, is one of the rare confluences in India where three rivers meet — a holy dip here on the first or last day of Pushkaralu carries doubled merit.
